Love versus Hate

In 1958 there were zero pop song titles with the word "hate" in the title versus 44 titles that contained the word "love". "Hate" showed up twice in 1963 and remained an unpopular word in song titles. The popularity of 'love' hit an all time high in 1968, 90 titles spoke of 'love'. It's popularity has steadily declined since than, so that 2004 saw only 20 'love' song titles vs 3 'hate' song titles.
